What you get

A real team, not a classroom.

Join a real product team

You build alongside a team, with standups, sprint planning, code reviews, and a live codebase. The same rhythm you would meet at a good startup.

Work like a working engineer

Real tickets, real deadlines, bug triage, and retros. The everyday texture of engineering, not a set of toy exercises.

Ship with AI workflows

Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot and more, used the way modern teams actually use them, from first commit to deploy.

Leave with proof

Merged PRs, shipped features, demo videos, and references. Experience any employer can inspect, not just a certificate.

What you learn

The skills of a working engineer.

Not a topic list you memorize. Each of these shows up in your tickets, because it is the work real product teams do every day.

The eight weeks

Week by week, start to demo day.

Week 1

Join the team

Meet the team, the codebase, and the tools. You set up your environment, learn how we work, and merge your first small PR before the week is out.

Week 2

Your first real tickets

You start working the way the team works: tickets from the board, standups, and your first proper code reviews. AI-assisted workflows become your daily rhythm.

Weeks 3 and 4

Ship your first features

Real features with real users on the other end. You write tests, handle review feedback, deploy, and watch your work run in production.

Weeks 5 and 6

Own work end to end

You take a feature from scope to production: plan it, build it, test it, ship it, monitor it. Bug triage, retros, and the occasional incident included, because that is the job.

Week 7

Harden and polish

Production quality: performance, monitoring, documentation. You also learn to tell the story of what you built, the way you will in interviews.

Week 8

Demo day and proof

You present what you shipped. You leave with merged PRs, a portfolio, demo videos, references, and a certificate. Proof first, paper second.

Good to know

Questions, answered.

Who is this for?

Anyone who wants to become a modern software engineer. Beginners are welcome, and so is anyone already in the field who wants real production experience on their resume.

What will I actually work on?

Real products being built at Virdek Labs. You work across the stack on whatever the team is shipping that cohort: user-facing features, APIs, databases, plus the testing, deploys, and monitoring that come with putting work in production. Nothing hypothetical.

Is it remote?

Yes, fully remote. You need a laptop, a reliable connection, and time you can protect each week.

When does it start?

Soon. We are finalizing the founding cohort start date now. Applications are reviewed as they arrive, and applying early helps.

What happens after I apply?

We read every application and reply within one business day. If it looks like a fit, we set up a short conversation about where you are and where you want to go. No trick questions.
